I recently won an Ipad for first place in a photo contest sponsored by Alaska Tour and Travel. I was very humbled and honored to win as there were many excellent entries.
The above photo was the winning entrant. Here are the details of the shot for any photo buffs out there.
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm set at 17mm.
Camera Body: Canon T3i
Exposure: 1 second
I used a one second exposure to blur the water. I used a tripod with remote control to keep it steady. To get to this location, I crossed the bridge near the Denali park entrance and bushwhacked to this spot. I had a feeling it would be a nice angle with the river and that the boulder and rapids would make nice composition. I guess I was right. In reality, Denali National Park is so beautiful in the fall it is difficult to take a bad photo. It is absolutely stunning in Autumn.
